NOUNS
A Noun is the name of person, place, animal or things .
Example:- Raj, dog, sunflower, pencil, train, Mumbai are “naming words”. They are called as NOUNS.
Some sentences are given below. The Nouns are underlined.
1) Rita is clever.
2) Sham is idle.
3) The sunflower is yellow.
4) The chalk is on the desk.
5) Children should obey their teachers.

1. COMMON NOUNS : The words are common .They do not tell about any particular thing or person . Boy means any boy . City means any city.
2. PROPER NOUNS : These nouns tell us about a particular person or a thing.
Example :-Raj means a particular boy . Mumbai means a particular city.
3. COLLECTIVE /GROUP NOUNS: These nouns tell us about a group of individuals or things .
Example : A pack of cards . A herd of cattle .A bouquet of flower.
