Phylum Annelida:-

  • Body long, cylindrical & metamerically segmented.
  • Few are ectoparasites.
  • Triploblastic.
  • Parapodia or suckers for locomotion.
  • Body covered with special cuticle
  • Hermaphrodite or unisexual
    Eg. Earthworm,  Leech,  Nereis, etc.

Phylum - :-Arthopoda:-

  • Animals have  joint appendages
  • Triploblastic , eucoelomate , bilaterally, symmetrical, segmented.
  • Animals are unisexual
    Eg Crab, Spider, Scorpion, Miilipede, Centipede, Cockroach, Butterfly, Honey bee.

Phylum  :- Mollusca:-

  • Body is soft and slimy.
  • Second largest phylum in animal kingdom.
  • Aquatic or terrestial.
  • Triploblastic ,eucoelamate, non segmented and soft.
  • Visceral mass is covered with mantel .
  • Animals are unisexual
  • Eg;-Bivalve , Snail , Octopus.

Phylum:-  Echinodermata:-

  • Calcareous spines are present.
  • Found  only in ocean.
  • Triploblastic, eucoelamate, radially symmetrical.
  • Tube feet
  • Calcareous spines.
  • Ability of regeneration,
  • trunk.
  • Noto chord is present
  • Also called as ‘acorn worms’
  • Marine animals  burrows in sand.
  • They are unisexual or some may be hermaphrodite.
  • Eg :- Balanoglossus, Saccoglossus.
 

Phylum  :-Chordata:-

  • Animals are mostly unisexual.
  • Eg : Starfish, Sea-urchin, Brittle star ,Sea-cucumber, etc

 

Phylum –Hemichordata:-

  • Body divided into three parts as proboscis, collar and
  • Notochord is present  in the body.
  • Pharyngeal gill slits are present.
  • Single ,tubular spinal .
  • Heart is present on ventral side of body.  

     

A)                Sub Phylum –Urochordata.

B)                Sub Phylum –Cephalochordata

C)                Sub Phylum –Vertebratal Craniata .

D)               Sub Phylum  -Vertebrata is divided  into six classes.

 

a)  Class – Cyclostomata
b)    Class –Pisces .
c)     Class –Amphibia.
d)    Class- Reptilia .
e)     Class- Aves.
f)      Class- Mammalia.
